Thai Airlines Cabin Luggage Allowance:
Passengers travelling with Thai Airlines have a carry-on baggage allowance of 1 bag plus a personal item. The bag should be within the 56cm x 45cm x 25cm dimensions and up to a maximum of 7kg. The personal item could be a purse, a camera or baby food.
Any liquids carried in the hand baggage will have to be divided in separate containers of up to 100ml in volume and placed in a zip-top transparent bag ready for security screening.
Thai Airlines Checked In Baggage Allowance:
On international flights, Economy customers have an allowance of 20kg. Business Class can check in 30 kg and First Class passengers up to 40kg.
If you are flying to the US or Canada, the allowance for Economy Class travellers is 2 bags of up to 23kg each. Passengers on Business or First Class can check in 2 bags up to 32kg each.
Maximum size for any check in luggage has to be within 158cm dimensions.
Customers with bags exceeding the weight or size limit will have to pay a flat fee of $119. If a bag exceeds both limitations, it will be charged $238.
If you are travelling with an infant you can check in an extra bag up to 10kg and within the 115 dimensions.
Passengers on a wheelchair will have it carried by the airline free of charge.
Thai Airlines Oversize Luggage:
If you want to take your sports equipment you may check it in as part of your free allowance.
If the item is on top of your permitted luggage allowance then you will be charged $60 for a golf bag, $40 for a set of skis and $119 for a bicycle. Bicycles should be properly packed for air travel.
Surfboards up to 270cm will be charged $60; over that size the price will be the standard excess fee of $119.
Travellers with a musical instrument can check it in as part of their allowance or pay the standard excess baggage fee of $119.
